Eldar Shibanov

London based award-winning director and screenwriter from Kazakhstan.

His short film Sex, Fear, and Hamburgers was selected for competition at the Venice Film Festival.
His debut feature project Mountain Onion become a finalist of Biennale College Cinema during development and premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival.

Eldar is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents and the Asian Film Academy. His works explore the collision between tenderness and brutality, often blending realism with elements of absurdity and humor.

He runs in the mornings for meditation, and loves cooking for family and friends.
